3R: Red Rag Rule International Initiative

Help us and make 3R an international airsoft rule!

3R: Red Rag Rule International Initiative

Ok guys, may I have your attention to support safe airsofting? 3R-Red Rag Rule works among many airsofters through our planet but to some is completely unknown. Let us make it a world standard for airsoft! Call your hit, put the rag on your head or other visible place. Let other players see that you’re out of the game. This will save painful misunderstandings. Be visible - Play Safe!

Now, Polish airsoft groups have put up the 3R or the Red Rag Rule to help promote it. It would be great if it spreads out faster now. It's a very practical rule to follow and can help "hit" players safe.

NABV announces initial talk with Dutch Customs

The new legalislation moves steadily ahead in The Netherlands, as the NABV announced having had an initial meeting with Dutch Customs about the implementation of the new rules that went active on the 15th of january.

The NABV and Customs point out that these are merely the initial talks and import as of now is still illigal without NABV membership, which remains closed for the moment as the foundation moves to put all the assests and required administration in place.

Another milestone in the efforts of the NABV was reached as the Justice Department submitted an official declaration about the reckognition of the NABV as the country's first official Airsoft Foundation. (Dutch: vereniging). This is a requirement as only members of a reckognised foundation will get the exceptions from the law regarding airsoft devices.

NABV releases further rules and explanations on day legislation becomes active

On the day that Dutch airsoft legislation becomes active, the NABV posts part 3 in their explanation of the rules, this being the first one after the new rules where published in a more formal (and therefor perhaps somewhat confusing) language used by the Dutch government. The NABV also warns that it is not legal to have Airsoft Replica's as of today, since memberships cannot be acquired yet. (with the exception of those who have a special exception by the ministry of Justice)

If the noise on the nlairsoft.com forums where any indication: people where scrambling to try and interpret the new rules as set for in the new weapons and ammunition laws. (WWM).

Dutch airsoft regulation signed and published - active in 7 days

the moment of triumph for the many years of hard work by the NABV board.

Dutch airsoft regulation signed and published - active in 7 days

Today, january 8th, 2013, is one many airsoft enthusiasts in The Netherlands will remember, the Minister of Justice signed the regulations for Airsoft, and these where subsequently posted on the Dutch Government website. (a requirement for any law or regulation to become active).

The new regulations include all the rules that where already announced recently, but also include some brand new details we didn't know about. They also do not include any ceavats we where dreading, like silly colors.

 some new remarkble things:

  • no registration of airsoft devices*
  • qualified members can and may import their airsoft devices from abroad. The shop only has to include a copy of NABV membership in the shipping documents for them to pass through customs.
  • airsoft devices may have a muzzle energy of a whopping 3.5J
  • no restrictions on semi-automatic or full-automatic weapons
  • no restrictions on airsoft device type (you want an M249 SAW? Go ahead! You want a Colt 1911? Sure!)

We at NLAIRSOFT.COM are more then extremely excited about this wonderful progress, and want to thank the board of the NABV for their relentless, unwaivering battle to make this all possible. It's a brand new day for our sport in The Netherlands, and it looks very sunny indeed.
