The new legalislation moves steadily ahead in The Netherlands, as the NABV announced having had an initial meeting with Dutch Customs about the implementation of the new rules that went active on the 15th of january.

The NABV and Customs point out that these are merely the initial talks and import as of now is still illigal without NABV membership, which remains closed for the moment as the foundation moves to put all the assests and required administration in place.

Another milestone in the efforts of the NABV was reached as the Justice Department submitted an official declaration about the reckognition of the NABV as the country's first official Airsoft Foundation. (Dutch: vereniging). This is a requirement as only members of a reckognised foundation will get the exceptions from the law regarding airsoft devices.

Redwolf kicked off the new year with the launch of the much anticipated Ares MS338 and MS700 spring powered bolt action sniper rifles. To get everyone's attention, the stock rifles kick out a good 380fps of firepower (.20g BBs), so that should give everyone a good indication of what it will do when the springs are upgraded. (I would say it could prove difficult to stay within the common 500fps limit most events have)

What's even more interesting: you can change the bolt for a gas bolt, or a CO2 bolt if you wish. (both sold separately, not yet released).

The MSR's sport a full-metal lightweight construction, and sport the following features.

• Foldable stock, adjustable cheek rest.
• Tactical rails for scope, sights, bipod
• Aluminum Outer barrel & flash hider
• Ultra light weight rail system
• Easy to disassemble. 
• Ergonomic designed hand grip
• Rails on the stock that allows sling mount attachments

The rifle is 890mm long when the stock is folded, and 1100mm long with the stock fully extended.

These rifles are famous from various games, like Modern Warfare 3, MAG, SOCOM 4 and Ghost Recon Online.

On the day that Dutch airsoft legislation becomes active, the NABV posts part 3 in their explanation of the rules, this being the first one after the new rules where published in a more formal (and therefor perhaps somewhat confusing) language used by the Dutch government. The NABV also warns that it is not legal to have Airsoft Replica's as of today, since memberships cannot be acquired yet. (with the exception of those who have a special exception by the ministry of Justice)

If the noise on the nlairsoft.com forums where any indication: people where scrambling to try and interpret the new rules as set for in the new weapons and ammunition laws. (WWM).

On the occasion of Christmas and New Year, Vega Force Company gave a little update about replicas planned 'coming soon' for the year 2013. Expected are the VFC GBB replicas-R UMP, MP5K-PDW and MP7A1. Not much information to put in the tooth, however, note that the MP7 should be scale RS 1:1 and that his body should be strengthened through the process of ferritic nitrocarburizing (like the Glock for example ).
