Today, january 8th, 2013, is one many airsoft enthusiasts in The Netherlands will remember, the Minister of Justice signed the regulations for Airsoft, and these where subsequently posted on the Dutch Government website. (a requirement for any law or regulation to become active).
The new regulations include all the rules that where already announced recently, but also include some brand new details we didn't know about. They also do not include any ceavats we where dreading, like silly colors.
some new remarkble things:
- no registration of airsoft devices*
- qualified members can and may import their airsoft devices from abroad. The shop only has to include a copy of NABV membership in the shipping documents for them to pass through customs.
- airsoft devices may have a muzzle energy of a whopping 3.5J
- no restrictions on semi-automatic or full-automatic weapons
- no restrictions on airsoft device type (you want an M249 SAW? Go ahead! You want a Colt 1911? Sure!)
We at NLAIRSOFT.COM are more then extremely excited about this wonderful progress, and want to thank the board of the NABV for their relentless, unwaivering battle to make this all possible. It's a brand new day for our sport in The Netherlands, and it looks very sunny indeed.
